Prabhas’ latest film “Adipurush,” directed by Om Raut, faced disappointment upon its release as it failed to impress audiences. The movie, based on the Indian mythological epic Ramayana, was mired in controversies surrounding its adaptation, leading to calls for a ban from certain Hindu organizations.
Director Om Raut became a target of severe criticism and online trolling for his work on the film. However, despite the film’s poor reception, the makers managed to recoup their investments before its release by selling the non-theatrical rights at exceptional prices.
Originally conceived as a two-part project to align with industry trends, Om Raut proposed shooting for an additional month to divide the content accordingly. Yet, Prabhas, the film’s lead actor, disagreed and firmly rejected the idea.
Prabhas successfully convinced the team that a two-part strategy would not be suitable for “Adipurush.” Consequently, the makers made the decision to abandon their plans, ultimately saving themselves from potential financial losses, considering the film’s underwhelming performance.
