The Telangana High Court on Friday refused to dismiss the FIR registered against rebel MP of YSRCP K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju and his son for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting of an on-duty policeman.
It is known that the Gachibowli police booked a case against MP Raju, his son Bharat, PA Shastri and other staff of CISF personnel for assaulting Farook Basha, a constable working for AP Intelligence on July 4.
During the hearing, the Chief Justice observed that an elected MP should act like any other common man as the counsel for Raghu Rama Raju appealed the court should give relief to his client as he is an MP.
The court dismissed the petitions filed by Raghu Rama Krishna Raju as the police found strong evidence against them and told the court that the investigation is at a key stage.
