Governor and TS government finally bury the hatchet!

The Telangana government, led by Chief Minister KCR, and Telangana State Governor, Tamilisai Soundararajan haven’t seen eye to eye in a long while, after the 2022-23 year budget was presented in the state assembly with the Governor’s address. This rift continued well into the rest of last year, and the differences between the governor and government were not resolved in the meantime.

This year, the budget session is set to begin the assembly on February 3rd. However, with the governor not giving her approval for the budget, the government approached the Telangana High Court. The HC asked the two parties to come to an understanding on the matter. Following the instructions, the state government’s lawyer Dushyant Dave and Raj Bhavan’s lawyer Ashok Anand held talks, and came to a common agreement.

The governor agreed to approve the budget if the budget would be presented after her address in the assembly. The government agreed to these terms, following which the governor approved of the budget.
