Government of India to permit higher theatre occupancy soon

As per the latest orders released by the Ministry of Home affairs, movie theatres across the country might soon be permitted to operate with higher occupancy.

As of now, movie theatres are functioning with 50% seating occupancy and this logistic is set to be altered by the government of India in the near future.

Revised SOP pertaining to movie theatres will be issued by the ministry of information and broadcasting very soon.

Very recently, the government of Tamil Nadu permitted 100% occupancy in movie theatres and this order was later revoked after the central home ministry expressed its discontentment. Now, the home ministry itself is stating that a revised SOP pertaining to seating occupancy in movie theatres will be issued soon.

This should come as a big boost to distributors and exhibitors who have been requesting concerned authorities to permit higher seating occupancy.
