As the lockdown is now official and full fledged, the most affected area is the food section. How will the supply and demand chain management taken care by the government is how efficient a government body is.
With the panic buying mode, public have started even buying more than necessary cylinders at once for future use. So, government has come up with rules for gas booking.
Usually, in Hyderabad alone, there are about 1 lakh to 2 lakh bookings on a daily basis. But now with the total lockdown in place, there are about 3.5 lakh bookings in one single day alone.
To control this huge surge in demand, Bharat Gas, Indane Gas and HP Gas came up with new set of regulations. Until now, after 1 cylinder is booked, under 24hours another cylinder can be booked. But this is changed now.
After the 1st cylinder is booked, another cylinder can be booked only after 14 days. But on the other side, whoever has taken a Gas Connection under the Ujjwal Scheme will be given a gas cylinder free for next three months according to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman. This is to make sure that there is enough of supply for everyone in need equally.
