Ganta Srinivasa Rao meets AP Speaker over his resignation approval

We already know TDP MLA and former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao had resigned from his MLA post to support the strike of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) employees against the privatisation.

After rejecting the resignation letter for not in the proper format, the MLA had again resubmitted his resignation to the Assembly speaker in the official format. However, AP Speaker Tammineni Sitaram hasn’t approved Ganta’s resignation yet.

Ganta Srinivas Rao today met Tammineni Sitaram in Srikakulam and asked the Speaker to accept his resignation. Responding to this, Sitaram assured him that he will look into it once he reaches the Amaravathi office within a week.

In February, the CCEA had cleared the privatisation of RINL, commonly known as the Vizag Steel Plant, which triggered an uproar among the employees and protests by political parties in the state.
