Gaddar, the Famous Singer and Revolutionary, is no more

Renowned singer and revolutionary activist, Gaddar, whose real name was Gummadi Vittal Rao, has left us today. His powerful songs and unwavering dedication to social causes have made a significant impact. Gaddar had been receiving treatment at Apollo Hospital recently due to heart disease.

With a birth year of 1948, Gaddar actively participated in the Naxalite movement until 2010, after which he joined the Telangana movement. His relentless advocacy for the rights of marginalized communities, particularly backward castes and Dalits in Telangana, earned him the title of a voice for the voiceless.

In 2011, Gaddar’s mesmerizing song in the film “Jai Bholo Telangana” earned him the prestigious Nandi Award. The news of his passing has deeply saddened netizens, who are expressing their heartfelt condolences. In these challenging times, our thoughts and sympathies go out to Gaddar’s grieving family.
