ZEE5 recently hosted an innovative press event that has been lauded for its creative approach. The marketing team at ZEE5 held a unique press conference at Snow Kingdom India, echoing the Himalayan backdrop where “Gaami” was primarily filmed.
Vishwak Sen and director Vidyadhar Kagita of Gaami praised ZEE5 for their originality in mimicking the Himalayan environment, offering the media a taste of the film’s frosty setting. They are hopeful that this immersive experience will translate to viewer appreciation on ZEE5’s streaming service. Kagita mentioned that the film’s complex story, which some found challenging to follow in theaters, can now be revisited on ZEE5, allowing audiences to connect the dots with closer observation.
At the press meet, ZEE5 representatives pointed out that it was a historic first to conduct a press conference under such frosty conditions. They believe this will positively impact the reception of Gaami on its streaming debut.
Vishwak Sen, who is celebrated for his commitment to acting, discussed his demanding role as an Aghora in Gaami, which involved shooting in Himalayan weather for two months without any protective gear. Despite initial skepticism about Gaami’s success due to its non-commercial nature, the film exceeded expectations and became the highest-earning movie of his career. Vishwak Sen emphasized the importance of believing in the story, which proved more successful than following a formulaic approach.
He expressed his gratitude towards the audience for their support during the film’s theatrical release and extended his thanks to ZEE5 for featuring “Gaami” on their platform. He also applauded the organizers for their unique style of promotion and said he missed opportunity of not having thought of such a creative promotional strategy for Gaami prior to its theater debut.
Gaami, produced by Karthik Sabarish under Karthik Kult Creations in partnership with V Celluloid, boasts a gifted cast including Chandni Chaudhary, MG Abhinaya, Harika Pedada, and Mohammad Samad. The film is enhanced by Naresh Kumaran’s moving music and Vishwanath Reddy’s compelling cinematography.
