Veteran Congress leader Konijeti Rosaiah, who held various positions in United Andhra Pradesh including that of Chief Minister, has passed away this morning due to ill health. He was 88.
As per reports, the former CM was rushed to Star Hospital in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, due to low blood pressure this morning. But sadly, he breathed his last on the way to the hospital and doctors confirmed the same.
Rosaiah was born on July 4, 1933, in Vemuru of Guntur district. He completed his graduation in Commerce from Guntur Hindu College. He was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1968, 1974 and 1980, contesting from the Congress Party.
Rosaiah, who had long experience in the Andhra Pradesh State Cabinet, served as the Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh from September 3, 2009, to November 24, 2010. He also served as the Governor of Karnataka for two months and the Governor of Tamil Nadu from 2011 to 2016.
