During the festival season there is always hope for film makers that a big film will be released and every accumulated loss will be compensated.
For the past several years, this responsibility has been resting on the shoulders of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. But fans will miss Khan’s films this Diwali. Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar have also played this role to some extent and Akshay’s film Laxmii managed to entertain the audience.
Small budget film makers got through this tough phase and managed to pull off with the advent of OTT. But this strategy didn’t work for the Khans as there was not only Covid impact but a hell lot of untowardly incidents like nepotism that was adversely effecting them.
On November 11, Bobby Deol’s ‘Ashram’ 2 has been released on OTT and is doing well too.
This year, not one but two actor films are being released on Diwali.
Rajkummar Rao appears to be the rising star of Bollywood who has given many hit films in a short time. Rajkummar’s ‘Ludo’ is releasing on OTT on 12 November. Abhishek Bachchan and Pankaj Tripathi are also playing pivotal roles. On November 13, the actor’s another film Chalap will be released too. His chemistry with Nusrat Bharucha will be seen for the first time.
On the other hand, Diljit and Manoj Bajpayee’s film “Sooraj Par Mangal Baari” is all set to compete with Rajkumar’s film on the same day.
