The Election Commission of India gave an unexpected shock to Christian evangelist and politician KA Paul. The constitutional body announced the cancellation of registration issued to KA Paul’s Praja Shanti Party, which he enrolled in 2008.
KA Paul, who is limited to Andhra Pradesh in 2019, made a lot of fuss to give him a chance. He recently entered Telangana politics. And in Telangana too, he announced his party will be the alternative to the ruling TSR Party. The evangelist recently announced that they are going to play a vital role in the centre as well. However, the Election Commission put an end to Paul’s dreams by delisting his party as it violates the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951,
The Central Election Commission has undertaken some reforms in the matter of political parties. Following that, the EC ordered to delist 86 non-existent registered unrecognised political parties (RUPPs) and declared 253 others as inactive. KA Paul’s party has also been included in the list of inactive parties as it does not carry out activities related to politics.
It is no exaggeration to say that there are no people in the Telugu states who do not know about Paul. It remains to be seen how the global figure will respond to this development.
