In an unusual event, eight of 500 BJP activists, who rejoined TMC in the presence of local MP Aparupa Poddar at Balpai locality in the Khanakul area, had shaved their heads in public to atone for their sins.
As per reports, the activists, who left the saffron party, said they had erred in joining BJP and were returning to the TMC to be part of development.
Not just shaving the heads, but ‘Gangajal’ was also sprinkled on returnees to cleanse them before reinduction. Many big leaders have moved from the BJP to the Trinamool. Criticisms are coming on shaving only the common people.
Recently, Trinamool has launched a free food program for the poor in Arambagh. On that occasion, they all joined Trinamool in the presence of MP Aparupa Poddar. Many of them were Dalits too. However, the MP did not feel sorry for them.
