A few months ago, the Supreme Court of India passed a judgement, to speed up the process of the hearing of cases in which public representatives were involved.
This decision has been taken by the apex court so that the people who represent the public are genuine and to make sure that their intentions are right.
As a result of this judgment, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy‘s several pending cases have also been fast tracked, in the relevant courts.
The cases that were withheld by the Nampally court until now, have now been transferred to the Enforcement Directorate department’s court, so that the hearing of these cases would take place at a faster pace.
The ED court has now sent a summons to Jagan, with respect to the land allotment cases on him, and the cases related to the Hetero and Aurobindo issues.
Summons have also been sent to Vijaysai Reddy, Hetero’s Srinivas Reddy, Aurobindo Managing Director Nityananda Reddy and PV Ramprasad Reddy, Trident Life Sciences Director Sarath Chandra Reddy and retired IAS officer BP Acharya.
As many as 6 charge sheets have been filed against Jagan with respect to these cases, in which he has been accused for disproportionate acquiring of assets, and heavy corruption.
Jagan’s cases have come into the limelight after the AP CM wrote a letter to the Chief Justice of India, in which he had blamed the Andhra Pradesh High Court and its Justice for being biased in their judgements. This letter is said to have greatly been the reason why the AP HC Justice was transferred recently.
