The Central Election Commission (CEC) has taken a crucial decision as the corona second wave is booming in the country. It has announced that it is postponing by-elections to Assembly and parliamentary seats. The EC, which reviewed the effect of Corona on India, said it had decided not to hold by-elections until conditions come to normal.
The EC has already notified for by-elections in eight assembly constituencies in several states. The EC said it would review the situation of corona in respective states and take a decision on the conduct of elections in those states. It is learned that Dr.Venkata Subbayya from Badvelu in the Kadapa district had died due to illness at the end of March.
