The scheme, which Chief Minister YS Jagan considered ambitious, was once again postponed. Door-to-door delivery of ration goods has been cancelled in the wake of the Panchayat Election Code.
Authorities also cancelled the inaugural function of CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy in Kadiri, Anantapur district on February 1. This seems to have undermined the government’s objective.
The government took this decision as it was not possible to launch any new schemes while the Electoral Code was in force. The state government intends to do door-to-door delivery of ration goods across the state from February 1.
The state government launched 9260 vehicles for ration door delivery on the 21st of this month. Already all the vehicles have reached all the villages across the state.
However, with the Supreme Court ruling in favor of the elections, it was not possible to start the scheme until the results of the panchayat election would come out.
