YS Sharmila is touring Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s native district Joint Medak to protest the suicides of unemployed youth. She visited the family of Venkatesh, who committed suicide for a government job in Sherilla village in the Veldurthi zone. Sharmila assured that she would be there for the parents who lost their son. Venkatesh committed suicide on May 16 last year. He aspired to become a government teacher.
After consulting Venkatesh’s family, Sharmila outraged at KCR. She questioned, “Do you employ only your children?” He said that the youth who participated in the Telangana movement thought that jobs would come if a separate state was formed. Unemployment is still a problem in Telangana.
