Director Puri Jagannath filed a complaint against distributor Warangal Sreenu and a person named G Shoban Babu, for threatening violence against him and his family, for not compensating them for the losses they incurred due to the disastrous result of Puri’s film Liger. Liger, featuring Vijay Deverakonda in the leading role, was released on August 25th, and turned out to be a major dud. This resulted in great losses for the exhibitors and distributors.
Following Puri’s complaint, the police department has provided Puri’s family with security, in Hyderabad. Given that Puri is currently not residing in Hyderabad, and is in Mumbai, the distributors haven’t gone to his house. With the director filing a complaint against the distributors, it has now been learnt that the distributors are planning to take legal action against the director.
