Kollywood star Dhanush’s upcoming bilingual film with director Venky Atluri has been officially launched today in Hyderabad.
Titled Sir in Telugu and Vaathi in Tamil, the film was launched grandly with a puja ceremony and the regular shooting will begin on January 5. Tollywood star director Trivikram Srinivas gave the first clap for the film.
Production house Sithara Entertainments shared photos from the pooja ceremony on Twitter. “An Auspicious start to an Ambitious Journey of a common man. #Vaathi / #Sir took off today with a pooja. Regular shoot from 5th Jan,” the makers wrote.
Apparently, Sir is Dhanush’s first-ever direct film in Telugu while it is the second Telugu movie of leading lady Samyuktha Menon after Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak.
Going by reports, Sir tells the tale of a young man who fights against the privatisation of education. Bankrolled by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, the film has music by GV Prakash Kumar.
