Delhi Police has registered an FIR against teen climate change activist Greta Thunberg over her recent tweets on farmers’ protests in India. The young activist stretched her support to the farmers’ unrest soon after pop sensation Rihanna attracted attention towards the protests.
In her first tweet, Greta Thunberg wrote “We stand in solidarity with the #FarmersProtest in India” and shared a CNN article on the ongoing farmers’ protest in India.
In a follow-up tweet, she wrote, “Here’s an updated toolkit by people on the ground in India if you want to help. #StandWithFarmers #FarmersProtest” and shared a document on details about the agitation.

Delhi Police’s FIR against Thunberg has charged her with Section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race) and Section 120B (criminal conspiracy).
Soon after the news emerged, Greta Thunberg doubled down on her views with a new tweet: “I still #StandWithFarmers and support their peaceful protest. No amount of hate, threats or violations of human rights will ever change that. #FarmersProtest.”
