IPL 2020: DC Vs MI match analysis: Maverick Mumbai Indians Score Yet Another Victory

In the clash of table toppers, Mumbai Indians have beaten Delhi Capitals by five wickets. Mumbai batsmen have chased a formidable total of 163 with ease and earned brownie points over Delhi. It was Quinton de Kock (53) and Surya Kumar Yadav (53), who set up a solid base for this chase. During the first innings, Shikhar Dhawan (69*) and Shreyas Iyer (42) helped Delhi to reach a good total of 162.

Delhi Capitals opted to bat after winning the toss. They didn’t get an ideal start as opener Prithvi Shaw got out in the first over. Ajinkya Rahane, who is playing his first match of this season, came and went back very soon. When they were in deep trouble, Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer settled the innings by creating an 85 runs partnership. Then, Krunal Pandya dismissed Iyer. Dhawan remained not out by the end of the innings and helped his team to score 162/4.

Mumbai got a good start while chasing this total. Especially, Quinton de Kock was in a red-hot form as he started hitting right from the first over. Delhi managed to get the wicket of another opener Rohit Sharma but that didn’t stop de Kock from hitting hard. Soon, he made his half-century and got out in the bowling of Ashwin. The same is the case with Surya Kumar Yadav. He got out right after scoring his half-century. Then, Delhi came back to the game by dismissing Hardik Pandya for a duck. Delhi bowlers managed to take things till the last over but Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya have successfully done the job by scoring 166/5 in 19.4 overs.
