We know the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 has been suspended after a few players and support staff from various teams contracted Coronavirus. As the bio-bubble was breached, the governing body has stalled the league and has been trying to host the remaining tournament in any available window, which will cover the remaining 31 matches.
As per the latest reports, the BCCI is planning to conduct the remaining part of the IPL 2021 edition in September-October before the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Reports suggest the tournament will be conducted in the UAE in a one-month window between September 15 and October 15.
The BCCI is likely to announce the plans on May 29 after the completion of a Special General Meeting (SGM) on that day.
The BCCI has already discussed with the England Cricket Board to reduce the interval between the second and third Tests from nine to four days. This will give the BCCI more time to move Indian and English cricketers to the UAE. If the English board does not agree to this, then the board is ready with another plan.
