Telangana Chief Minister KCR had earlier announced that all eligible people in the Vasalamarri village would be getting Rs. 10 Lakh financial aid, as part of the Dalit Bandhu scheme. Almost 21,000 people have been identified as being eligible for the scheme, and more than two thousand crores would be needed to implement this scheme. However, only 500 Crores have been released so far.
It has been now said that there are chances that the Huzurabad by-elections notification could be postponed, and it has now been announced by Cheif Secretary Somesh Kumar that the Dalit Bandhu scheme would be implemented to only the first 15 people at the launch of the event, in Huzurabad. This has greatly upset all the people of the community, who are expressing anger at the Chief Minister.
It was initially said that the scheme would be implemented to 5000 people on the day of inauguration and that the amount would reflect in their bank accounts within 15 days from depositing it. With the government now going back on its word, there are high chances for the TRS’s image to be tarnished in the people’s eyes. It is now to be seen what will happen.
