Covid:19: Aviation ministry issues SOP for serving beverages in international flights

Airlines around the globe have actualized new conventions with regards to flying in the wake of the covid-19, and the guidelines including refreshments additionally incorporate the serving of liquor.

A few transporters have changed their food and drink administration where many totally cut down liquor on certain flights. As a rule, reduced service diminishes contact between the group and travelers and furthermore the travelers will wear their face masks for longer time in view of novel coronavirus.

Now beer will be the only alcoholic drink to be served on Air India’s international flights commencing from September 7. The airline will continue hot meal service on international and pre-packed snacks/meals along with non-alcoholic beverages on domestic flights by the same date.

Before the pandemic, Air India had a wide range of alcoholic offering like scotch, vodka, wine, gin and beer. But it restricted pouring of drinks in glasses and opted for supply in beer cans and bottles.

The revised SOP issued by Aviation ministry include usage of Tea/coffee/alcoholic or non alcoholic beverages in disposable cans/bottles. Pouring services will be avoided and the beverages will be served in single usage disposable units.
