The number of coronavirus cases in India is increasing day by day. There is a shortage for supplemental oxygen in these situations. Many people died due to lack of oxygen. Yet vaccines are not even adequate. Thus it can be said that India is in a very big predicament.
In this regard, Russia made a key announcement during the Corona crisis. It offered to extend support for India. The Russian government led by President Vladimir Putin revealed that it will supply injections and oxygen cylinders. Talks are underway between the two countries in this regard.
Russia is an ally of India and a loyal partner since long time. Under such grave circumstances, the nation came forward to help India. It announced that it would allocate Medical Oxygen, Remediesivir and vaccines. Imports will start in the next 15 days.
Moscow claims to be able to supply 3 lakh to 4 lakh injections of Remedesivir per week. The number of these is likely to increase further. It is learnt that talks are currently underway between the two countries regarding the import of oxygen cylinders by ships.
The government has already waived the customs duty to facilitate supply of Remedesivir to treat covid patients.
