We know India is seeing a shortage of Covid-19 vaccine as the India-based vaccine providers are failing to meet the requirement due to less production rate. However, the companies assured to increase their capacities in coming days.
Now, the United States (US)-based pharma major Pfizer is in talks with the Indian government over supplies of its COVID-19 vaccine.
“Pfizer remains committed to continuing our engagement with the government of India towards making the Pfizer BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine available for the country,” a spokeswoman told in an e-mailed statement.
An English daily last week reported the US drugmaker was in talks with the Centre to soothe tension over supplies. As per reports, the companies, Pfizer and Moderna refused to directly provide vaccines to Punjab and Delhi Governments. They want to deal directly with the Centre on vaccine supplies and will not contract with state governments.
