Courts to give tough time on Jagan’s SEC decision?

The way Jagan’s government dramatically appointed the retired judge Kanagaraj as Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner overnight by expelling Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has been the hot topic in the AP for the last two days. The YSRCP’s government has gained an upper hand in this issue but it doesn’t seem like an everlasting one.

The AP government has prepared a secret ordinance on the reduction of SEC’s term from 5 years to 3 years is definitely a debatable element. Giving a shock to Jagan’s government Nimmagadda Ramesh is said to have filed a petition in High Court arguing that he cannot be relaxed all of a sudden and G.O will come into force only after the competition of his 5-year term.

The prominent people in justice system and experienced politicians opine that the amendment that made in the act to reduce the term period of the SEC won’t apply for the present SEC. Ramesh Kumar was appointed as per the 243K article in the constitution and the state government cannot simply reduce his term by bringing in an ordinance.

Now many of the analysts and political experts along with senior attorneys opine that high court will withhold Jagan’d decision as it contradicts the Indian Constitution in every angle.
