Court orders to file FIR against actor Suriya

It is known that Vanniyar community has raised several objects on Kollywood star Suriya’s much-acclaimed film Jai Bhim, claiming that the makers have shown the community in poor light.

Months after the release of the movie, a court in Chennai has now ordered the police to file an FIR against Suriya, his wife Jyothika and director Gnanavel under charges of misrepresenting the community in the courtroom drama film. The petition was filed by a Vanniyar group called Rudra Vanniyar Sena.

As per reports, the court forwarded the complaint to the Inspector of police in Velachery to lodge an FIR according to law and investigate the case. The case will be heard again on May 20.

Jai Bhim, which was released on Amazon Prime Video on November 2, also sent for the prestigious Oscars.
