The issue of Andhra Pradesh’s capital has become like a wildfire, where no one is able to burn it out. Something or the other issue is creeping up regarding the matter -sometimes, they say that the 3 Capital bill is approved, and sometimes, they say that it’s not.
A few days ago, the High Court of Andhra Pradesh issued Status Quo to the 3 Capital bill, till the 14th of August. For now, this is a great news for the farmers of Amaravati, who can still hope that justice will be served to them. Situation after August 14th still remains to be a mystery.
On the other hand, the matter about the interference of the Central Government has also come to a conclusion. An affidavit has been submitted by the Central Government, in which it has explicitly been stated that it has no say in the capital issue, and that it is completely up to the state government.
The same thing has been said by several Andhra Pradesh senior BJP members many times earlier. Several other Andhra Pradesh BJP members, however, have made contrasting statements, saying that the Center will interfere at the right moment.
This was the exact issue that caused a little tension between BJP and Jana Sena. Jana Sena was working closely with BJP to make sure that Amaravati is restored as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh. However, Pawan said that he and Jana Sena would further continue to work with BJP only after they have come to a conclusion on their stance.
