The final decision to resume the metro services with new guidelines in a phased manner was decided in a review meeting headed by HMRL MD NVS Reddy with L&TMRHL MD KVB Reddy along with senior authorities of HMRL and L&TMRHL recently.
HMRL resumed trials and kept a tab to ensure things are in place before commencing the services from September 8th. Despite the Corona fear, many commuters embraced the new normal and relished the first metro ride after 5 months post lockdown, where they followed all the guidelines enforced by metro rail. HMRL services re-commenced rail operations on the 29-km Corridor I (Red Line) between Miyapur and LB Nagar, where the first train started towards Miyapur at 7 a.m today after over 5 months.

Hyderabad metro began operating trains every five minutes between 7am and 12 noon and 4 P.m and 9 p.m. It will ferry merely 300 passengers, which is 1/3rd of the carrying capacity of the train.
