Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) founder-chairman V.G. Siddhartha, who went missing recently, has been found dead in Netravati river of Karnataka.
According to the police, two fishermen found his body, near Hoige Bazar. Responding to the issue, former minister U.T. Khadar said that the body has been shifted to Wenlock hospital mortuary for autopsy.
The body was identified to be Siddhartha’s, with a gold ring on his right hand finger, a digital watch on his left hand, and shoes. The body will be handed over to Siddhartha’s family and taken to Chikkamgaluru for the last rites,” he said.
Before disappearing, Siddhartha left a note to his employees, revealing that he was in severe debts, due to which he was unable to meet the working capital requirements.
“I have failed to create the right profitable business model despite my best efforts. I would like to say I gave it my all. I am very sorry to let down all the people that put their trust in me. I fought for a long time, but today I gave up as I could not take any more pressure,” his note read.

Siddhartha’s driver informed the police, that the coffee baron asked him to wait in the car at the end of the bridge as he wanted to make some phone calls, walking alongside the bridge.
“But when it started raining, I drove back to where I left Sir and was shocked to see him nowhere,” he added.
Shocked over his death, several businessmen, investors and market leaders expressed their condolences to Siddhartha.
