The Andhra Pradesh government, headed by the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, amending the AP Cinematography Act, has caused a stir in Tollywood. The YSRCP Govt putting a break for the surge in film ticket prices has affected the movie business badly, and several theatres in the state have reportedly shut down, as they cannot recover their investments with new ticket prices.
However, after the talks between the Tollywood delegation and CM Jagan, the state government has responded positively to the requests of the Telugu film industry and agreed to release a new GO soon. In the meeting, Chiranjeevi and other top stars of TFI had requested the chief minister to allow for special shows and hike the prices in the state.
Now, the latest we hear is that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has signed the file to increase the movie ticket prices. The new GO is likely to be released today and tomorrow. Well, this is a piece of good news for Prabhas, as his Radhe Shyam is hitting the screens this Friday. With the new GO, several biggies like RRR, Acharya, Ghani among others can have staggering collections in AP.
