It is well-known that megastar Chiranjeevi is set to work on the Telugu remake of Ajith’s Vedhalam. Meher Ramesh will be directing the remake and the project will be officially announced soon.
As per latest buzz, Chiranjeevi is eyeing another remake for one of his upcoming projects. Apparently, Chiru wants to remake another one of Ajith’s films, Yennai Arindhal. This film has a strong father-daughter sentiment and Chiranjeevi feels it can impress the Telugu audiences.
Incidentally, there is a certain amount of risk attached to the potential Telugu remake of Yennai Arindhal. The Gautham Vasudev Menon directorial was dubbed in Telugu as Enthavadu Gaani and was watched by a fair share of native Telugu audience. Consequently, remaking the film in Telugu might not evoke umpteen interest from movie-goers.
Notably, Pawan Kalyan tasted a bitter result with Katamarayudu which was the Telugu remake of Ajith’s Veeram. The Siva directorial was dubbed in Telugu as Veerudokkadu but Pawan decided to go ahead with the remake, Katamarayudu and the film bombed at the box office.
Now, Chiranjeevi seems to be following a similar path and trying to remake Yennai Arindhal which was already released in Telugu.
