In an interesting development, a university in China has invented a special “kissing device”, which allows long-distance lovers to share real physical intimacy. Patented by the Changzhou Vocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology, the remote kissing device has silicone lips equipped with pressure sensors and actuators and it mimics a real kiss by keeping the pressure, movement and temperature of a user’s lips.
This device can be operated using a mobile application which has to be downloaded on the mobile phones of both users. The leading inventor of the design, Jiang Zhongli, said, “In my university, I was in a long-distance relationship with my girlfriend so we only had contact with each other through the phone. That’s where the inspiration of this device originated”.
However, there is a mixed response to this device on the internet, as many called it vulgar and creepy.
