Chaari 111 Review – Only For Vennela Kishore

Chaari 111 is a 2024 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film written and directed by TG Keerthi Kumar. The film has Vennela Kishore, Murali Sharma & Samyuktha Viswanathan playing the lead roles while Rahul Ravindran, Priya Malik, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Satya, Brahmaji, Pavani Reddy, Thagubothu Ramesh & others are seen in key supporting roles. The music is composed by Simon K King and the film is produced by Aditi Soni under Barkat Studios banner.

Story:

The ex-Chief Minister (Subhaleka Sudhakar) forms a secret agency called Rudranetra under the leadership of an ex-army officer Major Prasad (Murali Sharma). The primary goal of Rudranetra is to solve all complicated cases in the city with the help of its special agents. One day, there is a bomb blast in the city and Major Prasad appoints Chari 111 (Vennela Kishore) to solve the bomb blast case along with Esha (Samyuktha Viswanathan). How will they solve the case forms the rest of the plot.

What about on-screen performances?

Vennela Kishore does a superb job and is the only saving grace of the film. It is his impeccable comedy timing that makes us sit through the run time. All his funny antics and comedy scenes are the biggest highlights of the film.

Samyuktha Viswanathan looks good and has a decent screen presence. She also gives out a neat performance as the other agent, Esha. She particularly does well in her only action scene in the first half.

Murali Sharma once again impresses in his important supporting role as the head of Rudranetra.

Priya Malik leaves a mark in another key role and is particularly good towards the climax.

Satya also entertains with his comedy timing in his limited portions. All his scenes with Vennela Kishore are hilarious.

Thagubothu Ramesh is wrongly cast as the sidekick of Vennela Kishore. He doesn’t suit the role properly.

Rahul Ravindran, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Brahmaji, Pavani Reddy, & others are good in their short supporting roles.

What about off-screen talents?

The story by TG Keerthi Kumar is a regular crime thriller but with a funny approach. His screenplay too is not up to the mark. It takes the regular template path with a few twists and a routine backstory of the villain.

Director TG Keerthi Kumar does a pretty okayish job with the movie. His presentation is first rate and the way he showcased all his actors is commendable. But the decision to have two different approaches for both halves didn’t work in favour of the film. Had he followed the same comedy route in the second half too, the result would have been better.

The dialogues are witty and especially Vennela Kishore’s English lines and punches are very funny.

The cinematography by Kashish Grover is outstanding. His camera work surely takes the film to the next level in terms of its scale.

Simon K King’s background score is another big highlight of the film. The sound is very unique and trendy. The theme Of Chaari 111 track is good.

Richard Kevin’s edit is on point and the film is well under the required run time.

The production values by Barkat Studios are adequate.

Verdict: Overall, Chaari 111 is a mindless action comedy that rests heavily on Vennela Kishore’s funny episodes. Had the script also complimented the comedy portions, the result would have been unanimous.
