The Center has warned that the Andhra Pradesh government had exceeded the suggested debt limit. The Union Finance Ministry in a letter to the Principal Secretary, AP Finance, said that an additional Rs 17,000 crore had been used beyond the FRBM limit.
PAC chairman Payyavula Keshav released a letter to the media in this regard. In the letter, the Center strongly warned the AP government and said it will adjust the additional usage of Rs 17,000 crore in this year’s financial budget. The Center has directed the AP to report any discrepancies in the figures sent by them.
On the other hand, TDP has lodged a complaint with Governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan seeking details of expenditure of Rs 41,043 crore from the state treasury.
With this letter, it became clear that the state’s financial affairs were in disarray. However, it remains to be seen how the AP government reacts to the letter from the Centre.
