The Central government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cancelled the Central Board of Secondary Education 12th Board exams given the uncertain conditions due to COVID-19.
The Prime Minister chaired a review meeting today regarding the Board exams where the officials gave a complete presentation on the present scenario and explained the views received from all stakeholders, including State governments.
During this meeting, it was decided that Class XII Board Exams would not be held this year. It was also decided that CBSE will take steps to compile the results of the students as per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner.
The Prime Minister said that the decision has been taken in the interest of students. “Health and safety of our students is of utmost importance and there would be no compromise on this aspect,” he said.
