CBI to enquire into RRR’s CID custodial nature?

YSRCP member and Narasapuram MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju was allegedly put through “third degree” while he was in the Andhra Pradesh CID’s custody. RRR’s son filed a petition in the Supreme Court, requesting an enquiry into the matter. The SC has admitted the petition, and there are high chances that the CBI or any other National organisation will enquire into the custodial nature of RRR.

The Central government and the CBI have been termed as the respondents of this petition, and have been given 6 weeks’ time by the Supreme Court, to give their answer. Dushyanth Dave, the lawyer representing the Andhra Pradesh government, expressed his objection to the fact that the AP government, CM Jagan and CID, not being named as the respondents of the petition. To this, RRR’s lawyer, Mukul Rohatgi said that they took this decision purely at their own risk.

The SC also said that it would not take any decision without hearing the arguments on any matter. The next hearing has been postponed to after 6 weeks, and it is being expected that the decision will be in the favour of a CBI enquiry. The SC seems to not be taking the aspect of RRR being put through a “third-degree” treatment, given that the Army hospital’s report stated that RRR sustained a fracture beside his toe finger. All in all, it looks like a CBI enquiry into the matter is imminent.
