The Hyderabad city unit of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has lodged a disproportionate assets case (DA) against Hyderabad Central University (HCU) Chief Medical Officer (CMO) D. Ravindra Kumar and his better half P. Sujatha.
As indicated by the CBI FIR, Kumar bought properties in his name and his wife Sujatha, who functioned as an educator in HCU grounds school, from 2014 to 2019 after he turned into the CMO in the college.
CBI claimed that the medical offer acquired assets illegally. It was learnt that the resources handled by Ravindra at the start was Rs.3.22 crore and toward the end it accumulated to Rs.9.04 crore during his tenure. As such the assets gained during the pertinent period was Rs.5.82 crore and the use was only Rs.1.82 crore.
The complete finances and consumption was Rs.7.65 crore during the period while the pay received by Kumar was Rs.3.79 crore. Consequently, CMO and his wife was found out to be in control of assets disproportionate to his known types of revenue adding up to 101.91 percent of lopsided resources with respect to his income.
CBI filed a criminal conspiracy case under Section 120B of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and also slapped charges as per provisions of prevention of corruption act, 1988 (PC) on both of them.
