Cases – Arrests – Jagan damaging his political career himself?

Here is the answer for every confused soul about the mercy shown by Jagan Mohan Reddy on the opposition TDP all these days. It has been a year since the YSRCP government came into power and there were no signs of revenge on their arch-rival TDP till last week. Now, it is quite clear that Jagan took his time and waited for a defining situation for all the TDP’s actions in the past.

So, did Jagan achieve what he desired for with these arrests of TDP leaders? Well, if we interpret the series of arrests and the public reaction simultaneously when Atchannaidu was arrested, there was a lot of negativity on Jagan’s government due to the back to back blows from AP high court. In addition to that AP assembly Sessions are about to begin at that time. So, the arrest of Atchanna obviously backfired.

Later, JC Prabhakar Reddy’s arrest took place within 24hours of Atchannaidu’s arrest which look a bit hurried and appeared like it was done by YSRCP only to send a message to TDP and warning to his own leaders who are recently dissatisfied with YSRCP’s rule and Jagan’s behavior. This is also a major drawback for the ruling party. Coming to the latest issue of Ayyannapathrudu, they began applying ‘first of its kind’ – Nirbhaya Act against the Opposition leaders. Here Ayyanna was accused of misbehavior while taking part in a protest meeting.

As there is no constitutionality to this Act, they are is using the Nirbhaya Act. Actually, Nirbhaya Act was relating to sexual-related offenses of serious nature and there are reports that Ayyannapathrudu will get arrested soon on these charges. No one is either defending or justifying Ayyanna’s obscene comments on women but the question is, on what grounds Nirbhaya act was booked and what is the real desperation behind taking this senseless step?

So, it is clear that Jagan is being termed by the AP people as the CM with a lot of temptation to dismantle the opposition and man with hurried decisions like Council abolition and decentralization of power & CRDA bill only to prove his supremacy in the state. Is Jagan finding his own way to ruin his political career as Chandra Babu did?
