With the grant for shootings, all pending works in the film and television industry that were in the pipeline for a 2020 release have begun resumption of shootings and other post-production works. Likewise, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan,Nagarjuna and Alia Bhatt-starrer action fantasy flick Brahmastra was slated for release on 4 December 2020, but has been procrastinated to 2021 due to the current pandemic crisis.
‘Brahmastra’ was actually scheduled for a 2019 Christmas opening, but had been shelved due to vfx work. This time after 3 months of dire situations, now Ayan Mukherjee, who is the director is left with no choice but to push the release to 2021, while a two weeks of pending shoot schedule is yet to be resumed. Karan Johar bankrolled the film that commenced in February 2018 in Bulgaria and continued with schedules with massive sets in London, New York, Scotland, Varanasi and Manali. It is produced conjointly under fox studios and Dharma productions.
The inside sources reveal that Ayan Mukerji had been striving hard even in the lockdown communicating between the post-production units in Mumbai and London. After recommencing the work, the special preview trailer is expected to be out by August 2020. It’s a massive budget film that requires high end visual effects, which is expected to release in the form of a series of short clippings as part of the promotional campaign, reports the source.
The film’s logo was released by 150 drones at Kumbh on Shivratri earlier this year. In the trilogy, Ranbir reportedly plays a DJ who absconds from home against his father’s will, later he discovers that he has special superpowers, while Alia Bhatt plays the role ‘Isha’. The film also includes star studded cast like Shah Rukh khan, Vikram Gokhale and Mouni Roy in prominent roles.
