Boxer Lovlina Borgohain flooded with congratulations

Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain (69kg) settled for a bronze medal after losing her semifinal bout against Turkey’s Busenaz Surmeneli on Wednesday (August 4). She brought a second bronze medal for India at Tokyo Olympics after shuttler PV Sindhu.
Lovlina became just the second female boxer after MC Mary Kom to win an Olympic bronze medal. Kom had won the 2012 London Olympics bronze. Now, the young boxer has been flooded with congratulations on her fabulous win at Olympics.
“Congratulations to Lovlina Borgohain! With your hard work and dogged determination, you have done the nation proud. Your Bronze medal in boxing at the Olympics Games will inspire the youth, especially young women, to battle with challenges and turn their dreams into reality,” President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted.
“Hearty congratulations to Lovlina Borgohain for bagging a bronze medal in the Women’s Welterweight Boxing competition at the #TokyoOlympics2020. She has made the entire nation proud. My best wishes for her future endeavours. @LovlinaBorgohai,” Vice President Venkaiah Naidu tweeted.
Congratulating Lovlina Borgohain on her success at the Tokyo Olympics, PM Narendra Modi said the 23-year-old’s performance in the boxing ring will inspire several Indians.
“Well fought Lovlina Borgohain! Her success in the boxing ring inspires several Indians. Her tenacity and determination are admirable. Congratulations to her on winning the Bronze. Best wishes for her future endeavours,” tweeted PM Modi.
Lovlina Borgohain is the third boxer from India after Vijender Singh (bronze in 2008 Beijing Olympics) and Mary Kom (bronze in 2012 London Olympics) to win an Olympic medal.
