Box Office: Uppena creates history, sets an all-India record

Vaisshnav Tej and Krithi Shetty starrer, Uppena is doing wonders at the box office and infact, the film is setting unprecedented records in pan-India circuit, which is as remarkable as it can get.

Uppena has now emerged as the highest grossing Indian film, starring a debutante in the male lead role.

Uppena has shattered the record held by Hrithik Roshan’s debut film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai which released back in 2000. The Hrithik Roshan starrer grossed Rs 80 crores at the box office and just over 2 decades later, a Telugu film starring Vaisshnav Tej has broken this record by surpassing the figure.

Uppena has grossed over Rs 80 crores and now holds the record of highest grossing Indian film with a debutante in lead role.

The Buchi Babu Sana directorial is set to be remade in Tamil, and Hindi soon. Mythri Movie Makers bankrolled the film and Devi Sri Prasad composed the music.
