The makers of Rajamouli‘s big-budget periodic action thriller, RRR had recently announced that the film will be releasing in theatres on 13th of October. This announcement sent Mega and Nandamuri fans into a state of frenzy but it appears to be that not everyone is happy with the same.
Noted Bollywood film-maker Boney Kapoor who produced Maidaan, expressed his discontentment with the makers of RRR.
“I had announced the release date of Maidaan well in advance to avoid a possible box office clash. But the producers of RRR barged in and announced they would be releasing on 13th October, which is just two days ahead of my film, Maidaan(15th October). This is unethical and unacceptable,” he said.
Boney Kapoor took a dig at Rajamouli and said he doesn’t believe that the versatile director has nothing to do with the release date. He slammed Rajamouli for his lack of empathy. “Rajamouli’s antics are an example of strong-arm tactics and bullying,” he commented.
Boney Kapoor pointed out that he has never seem two films starring a particular actor in prominent roles releasing with just two days gap. For the unversed, Ajay Devgan is starring in both RRR and Maidaan.
