Bollywood’s top actor speaks against vulgarity on OTT

It is a known fact that there is no censor board for OTT platforms in India. For some time now, there have been several complaints against the digital streaming giants as they are promoting more obscene and vulgarity. Some even approached the Supreme Court asking for pre-screening of content with a committee for all kinds of content that gets released on the OTT in India.

Now, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan reacted to the same issue and taken the opportunity to bat for censorship on OTT. Speaking at the Filmfare Awards launch on Wednesday evening, the ace actor said that all the vulgarity, nudity and swearing should stop. He said, “15-16-year-olds can now watch this content on their phone. I just think the content should be checked on OTT. The cleaner the content, it will be better and will also have a larger viewership.”

He further added, “You don’t need to cross the boundary. We live in India. It was way too much before, finally, it has been curbed.”
