In the latest political development happening in West Bengal, Mukul Roy, who first shifted to Bharatiya Janatha Party from Trinamool Congress, has returned to Mamata Banerjee’s party along with his son Shubhranshu.
The 67-year-old leader has received a much warmer welcome than he may have expected. The entire Trinamool top administration, including Mamata Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee, Partha Chatterjee and Subrata Mukherjee, were present at the event to greet Roy back.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that Mukul has returned home and stated that he was never a traitor like the others. She made interesting comments that more from other parties will join Trinamool Congress.
However, Mamata also clarified that those who abused the party and crossed all limits before joining the BJP ahead of the freshly held assembly Polls will not be taken back into the party.
