Big fight in TDP for that Mayor seat?

Vijayawada is one of the only few strongholds left for the Telugu Desam Party in AP and it seems they are shaking it too much with some integral differences for the mayor seat. Of course, the commencement of local body polls looks very distant at this time but considering the situation of the TDP they have to re-group themselves for the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation polls.

In fact, Keshineni Nani’s daughter Swetha Keshineni has already been given the ticket by Chandrababu. With this, Swetha has already started campaigning as the mayoral candidate. However, it is known that the elections have been postponed. But, in the recent time, Keshineni Nani has been staying away from the party.

As Vijayawada MP, he is expressing his displeasure that he hasn’t been given priority in the party. However, without directly stating the matter, he became paranoid about himself and resorted to criticism. Moreover his criticisms were heaped on the Kamma social class. With this development, even the leaders of the Vijayawada city party, including the Kamma community in Vijayawada, are staying away from Keshineni.

In the wake of these developments, the demand to change the mayoral candidate has come to the fore. It is being said that recently, four prominent leaders from the Kamma community demanded that Chandrababu reconsider his candidature for the mayoral post. They are leaning towards Gadde Anuradha, the former ZP chairperson as the mayor candidate. Anuradha is the wife of MLA Gadde Ram Mohan.

Of course, Kesineni won’t tolerate this kind of politics in the party for sure and those Kamma leaders reportedly wrote a letter to Babu rather than speaking in person. So, Kesineni will definitely want to take the opposition on and it will be a big headache for Chandra Babu to see two groups within the party fight for authority in their strong base.
