Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas has immense popularity among the north audience with his dubbed films on YouTube. With huge number of views clocked for his movies on YouTube, his movies are among the most watched ones. Seeing this, he must have decided to make his debut to Bollywood.
He chose a remake of Prabhas-Rajamouli’s Chatrapathi. The movie is directed by VV Vinayak who is capable of making huge mass action entertainers. Released in the theatres this week, the movie was not received well and is going on to become a disaster.
The movie failed to impress any section of audiences and there are several reasons for that. Firstly, the remake of a 18 years old movie has not been shot according to today’s times. The makers kept everything unchanged and so it looked outdated. This might be intentional as they don’t want to spoil the original.
Next, there were lots of comparisons with the original being a sensational hit. The remake has no emotional depth which is actually the main strength of the original.
And then comes the other reason that most of the audience have already seen the dubbed movie given the popularity of Prabhas and SS Rajamouli.
All in all, it’s Bellamkonda’s costly mistake choosing the remake of Chatrapati as his Bollywood debut.
