BCCI chief Ganguly gets discharged from hospital, shares heart felt thanks to doctors

BCCI president and former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly, who was admitted in Kolkata’s Woodlands Hospital subsequent to a cardiac arrest was discharged today.

Ganguly is said to have vomited and felt chest pain after a morning work out on 2nd January and was rushed to Woodlands Hospital. Dr. Rupali Basu, MD and CEO of the hospital identified it as heart attack and performed cardiac angioplasty.

“I am absolutely fine. Hopefully, I will be ready to fly soon,” Ganguly said. The former cricketer also shared his heart felt thanks towards the doctors for taking special care in treating right from his admission till discharge. The doctors from Woodland hospital reported that he is doing well and clinically fit but wanted to stay one more day in the hospital.

On Wednesday morning, Members of the medical board interacted with Dr Devi Shetty after he paid a visit to Ganguly. In the press meet, Dr Shetty commended the effort of whole team of Woodlands doctors. Dr Rupali Basu’s team will constantly monitor on his health situation and take appropriate measures every now and then at home,” the health bulletin stated on Wednesday.

Doctors at the hospital came to a decision to discharge Sourav on Wednesday after he underwent minimally invasive surgery for ‘Triple vessel disease’ (Three blocked coronary arteries) and found stable. He will undergo second angioplasty at a later stage, as indicated by the medical team.
