The shooting of Balakrishna’s Akhanda was halted very recently due to the Covid situation. The unit tried to brave the Covid outbreak and continued shoot even till early this month. But the gravity of the situation has forced Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu to change their plans.
As per a source close to the movie unit, Balakrishna and Boyapati tried their best to complete shoot at a brisk pace in a bid to stick to 28th May release. After understanding it wouldn’t be possible to release the film in May, given the Covid situation, they planned release the film in July and went ahead with shoot.
However, the alarming surge in Covid cases has forced them to call off the forthcoming schedules. The makers felt it would be highly unsafe to carry on with the shoot in these challenging times.
Akhanda shoot will be resumed only after normalcy is restored. The release date will be altered accordingly.
