Hero Aadi Saikumar’s new film, Atithi Devo Bhava under the direction of Polimera Nageshwar has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

Abhay(Aadi Saikumar), who has Monophobia syndrome loves a girl named Vaishnavi (Nuveksha). But as a sudden twist, a cop named Ajay( Adarsh Balakrishna) enters into the scene to nab Abhay when he is in flat with Vaishnavi. Why did Ajay arrest Abhay? How is the Monophobia disorder of Abhay interconnected with the further proceedings? Forms the main USB of the film.

On-screen performances:

Aadi Saikumar is decent in his role as a guy who has Monophobia issues. His emotional performance in a couple of scenes bring depth to the proceedings.

Heroine Nuveksha is cute on screen and gave a good performance in her character. Her chemistry with Aadi is good and adds romantic texture to the film.

Actress Rohini as hero’s mother is apt in her role. Other actors such as Sapthagiri, Adarsh Balakrishna and Adhurs Raghu are okay in their extended cameo roles.

Off-screen talents:

Director Polimera Nageshwar’s idea of making a film based on Monophobia disorder interlinking with a love story is okay but he would have wrote the scene order in a gripping way to bring depth to the proceedings. His presentation lacks proper impact and dilutes the audience mood.

Music by Sekhar Chandra is good as his songs are audible on the screen. His background score is also decent.
Cinematography by Amarnadh Bommireddy is okay as he tired to present the entire film with a rich framing and lighting setup.

Editing by Karthik Srinivas is decent. Production values for this limited budget movie are good.

Positive Points:

  • Chemistry between the lead pair

Negative Points:

  • No proper detailing
  • Uneven screenplay

Verdict:

In an overview, Atithi Devo Bhava is a regular romantic family drama that lacks proper presentation and engaging screenplay. Though Aadi and Nuveksha did justice to the film with their performances, lack of strong conflict point stands tall as the demerit for the movie.

Rating: 1.5/5
